One Book, One City
A reading experience to bring the Beverly Hills Community together like never before.
“The Boys in the Boat” by Daniel James Brown celebrates the 1936 U.S. men’s Olympic eight-oar rowing team—nine working class boys who stormed the rowing world, transformed the sport, and galvanized the attention of millions of Americans. The book’s message is that a small, diverse group of people, exceeding the strength of any single one of its members, can, by working together towards a common goal, accomplish great things.
